How to store your Coffee
Air, moisture, light, heat, and light are the top four factors that will affect the quality of your coffee supply. Improper storage can cause the beans to become stale and your coffee will lose its flavor long before you brew it. Here are a few important reminders to keep in mind when storing your kona coffee:
- DO store your coffee in air-tight glass or ceramic jars in a convenient, cool, location away from direct sunlight.
- DO NOT refrigerate your coffee supply. Contact with moisture will cause deterioration.
- DO NOT keep your coffee in their commercial containers for long-term storage.
- If you have purchased a large amount of coffee to be used over a long period of time, store them in air-tight plastic bags inside the freezer. Be sure to consume them in not more than a month. Once you take them out of the freezer, pop them in an air-tight container and consume as soon as you can.
